Perdomo Habano

High End taste at a low end price!

Continuing on my Nicaraguan for $6 or less kick, today we are taking a look at the Perdomo Habano Torpedo in the Corojo leaf wrapper.

Here we go a nice hearty cigar that leaves you fulfilled at the end. We may be talking the “Chunky Soup” of cigars, just less sodium, and no soup, (I guess it is nothing like chunky soup, but it does leave you satisfied) Long leaf Cuban seed Nicaraguan tobacco fill the bold, and oh so tasty Corojo leaf. Here is another medium to full bodied cigar for you to enjoy. It burned smooth and even down to the nub, and had a earthy after taste that just screams “top me off with a shot” Since I am not one to argue with a talking stogie, a quick swig of whiskey followed the last draw.

Something for the Joe’s to talk about: If the Corojo is a little to strong for you (stay away from the Maduro), you can give the Connecticut leaf a try. Choice is the friend of any cigar smoker.

Size: Torpedo, 6 & 1/2 inches with Ring gauge of 54.
Time needed: 45 to 60 minutes to enjoy this one.
Shelf Rating: 3.75/5 points for the Average Joe (reminded me a little of a AVO, but for half the price, can’t go wrong there.)
Price: $5 to $7 a Cigar / $100.00 to $140 a box

Should you buy: Yeah, give it a go. I was first introduced to these a month or so ago, and it has a nice home in my humidor. (That is until I pull him out, and set him on fire for my pleasure. But he knew his destiny the day I took him home!). If you like a smooth smoke with a nice draw, pick one up.

Perdomo Lot 23 Natural

I just sat down and cut the cap off of one of the Perdomo Lot 23 Connecticut Leaf Naturals that Marc traded me from his stock he bought at Buttheads in Danbury, CT 2 weeks ago.

I have to tell you this is a distinguished looking cigar, and when lit, it absorbs the flame with a smooth burn from start to finish. There is a medium body of flavor and spice to be enjoyed by this cigar, that is not too strong for a light cigar smoker but has enough class to be respected as a higher-end cigar for the average Joe to enjoy within his budget.

Something for the Joe’s to talk about: This cigar is based upon a rare crop that Nick Perdomo planted in the exact plot of land called “Lot 23″. While most manufactures blend tobacco from different lots with different amounts of tobacco to give the cigar unique spices. This is not the case with this rare cigar as all the tobacco came from the same lot and then placed in a wrapper from Connecticut for you to enjoy.

Size: 5 ½ inches with Ring gauge of 54.
Looks: If I had 1 hour to relax this would be a nice fit.
Shelf Rating: 4/5 points for the Average Joe
Price: $5 – $7 a Cigar / $80 – $95 a box

Should you buy: Yes, you can share these with your friends and not worry about catching any slack from the higher end smokers. I would have to recommend this cigar.
